Weather & Holidays

If O’Fallon School District 90 closes for weather reasons, there will be no classes at DanceStation. We are NOT closed for most Monday holidays or teacher conference days. A studio calendar is sent home at the beginning of the first semester.

Attendance

Increasingly, our young people are overbooked and overscheduled. Regular attendance is key to the student’s progression in each class. If you miss a class, there is no refund, but make-up classes are offered at no additional cost. Our instructors will pick the suitable time and class for your child. Please make an effort to be on time to all classes; otherwise your child may miss critical warm up time and be more susceptible to injury.

Dress Code

No gum or jewelry please.

Hair

Hair should be in a bun or neatly secured off the face and neck for ALL ballet and pointe classes.

Boys’ Ballet Classes

Black unitard or white t-shirt and black jazz pants, black dance shorts, or black leggings, with black or white ballet shoes.

Advanced Broadway

Students need black pedinis sandals. (Pedini Femme preffered)

Pre-school Movement

Any solid color leotard or dance dress (no gymnastic leotards please), pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and black tap shoes.

Girls’ Ballet Classes

Black leotard (mandatory for all students for exam and recital purposes), or any solid color leotard for regular ballet classes, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes or pointe shoes. Ballet skirts, warm-ups, dance sweaters, etc. may be worn, but students should be prepared to remove them after a sufficient warm-up period.

Tap, Jazz, and Modern Classes

Students may wear any plain-colored dancewear for jazz and tap classes. Most students opt for solid color leotard and black jazz pants or black tights. Black dance shorts are allowed with tights underneath. Black tap shoes are required for tap classes. Black jazz shoes are required for Jazz II and up.
