DanceStation news: October 2024
Reminders:
Dress Code: All ballet dancers in Ballet 2 and up need to have their hair in buns for ballet, Cecchetti, and pointe classes. If they come early to class with their own hair supplies, I have a desk helper that can help with hair until 5pm each day. Many students wear their hair in a bun to school on ballet days as well. Proper attire is required for all classes and students should never come to class without leotard/tights, or leotard and leggings for jazz/tap or modern. Some classes like modern may be more flexible about wearing a t-shirt over the leotard for the beginning of warm-ups, but they should always be prepared to remove baggy clothing. Please do not send dancers with any jewelry into class. Little stud earrings, without hoops are fine. No necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. They get caught in hair, bang on the barre, break in the middle of class, and the dancers fidget with them throughout class. The Kendra Scott necklaces are really popular right now, but a very expensive item to lose or break while they are dancing.
Tuition: Your monthly tuition is due with the first class of each month – unless you have made other arrangements with me in person. A late fee of $10 will be added to your account after the 15th of every month.
DANCESTATION APP
The App is available on Google Play store for Android users and the Apple App store for I-Phones. We have found that some families still haven’t downloaded the App. The DanceStation App is where we post all new information, the studio calendar, updates, and reminders. Make sure to allow notifications so you know when new info is added.
Reminder: We DO have class on Monday, Oct 14th for Columbus Day. We DO NOT have class on Thursday, Oct 31st for Halloween.
Cecchetti workshop weekend is Oct. 26 and 27th here at DanceStation. It is mandatory for all dancers taking spring exams, as stated on the Dancestation calendar we sent home in September. However, we encourage all Cecchetti dancers to participate since we are hosting it at our own studio. Grades 4, 5, and 7 will be on Sat. Oct 26th and Grades 1, 2, 3 and 6 will be on Sunday. Times TBA: we will know by next week when the Cecchetti flyer goes home in each Cecchetti class. Also on Sunday, Oct. 27th we will be hosting a modern master class for int/adv (Cecchetti 4 and up) and also for our younger levels (Cecchetti 1-3).
Watch week/Parent Observation is October 21-24. Parents are invited in to each classroom to watch the entire class that week. Please help the teachers by silencing your cell phones and keeping your younger children from running around the room and being distracting to the dancers.
