Spring Break Reminders, Parking Update, and more
Spring break runs Tuesday, April 4th through Easter Monday, April 10th, and classes resume on Tuesday, April 11th.
Construction started last Friday on the alley behind the studio making the parking lot unusable for three weeks!!! All classes after the break will need to use street parking and possibly even the parking lot by Birch Market across the train tracks. Give yourself more time to find parking these next few weeks, and you will want to walk your child across the busy State Street. You can park on both sides of the street up and down the entire block. The ice cream business and the photography studio will also have people parking on the street, so it will be very full! Eventually the alley will be blacktoped during these three weeks. The construction is starting on our end of the alley and then moving down as they go, so it’s possible it will be done sooner than the 3 weeks they estimated in the letter from the city. We can hope!
Auto-pay for tuition went through tonight, April 2nd. It will only go through for tuition, it does not automatically pay your costume balances. So you will need to log in and take care of those on your own this week. Tuition and costume balances are due by April 15th in order to avoid the late fee charge. If you cannot remember your password to log in to your parent portal, just email me at edancestation@yahoo.com and I will send you the link, and once you are in you can change your password so that moving forward you can log in from the app whenever you like. Even if you pay by cash or check, it is very useful to be able to look at your account.
Lastly, we have gone through an extraordinary amount of hair supplies this year, especially recently. Soooooo many of our younger Ballet 2, 3 and 4 students are being sent to class with their hair down or in a pony tail. The bun is part of our dress code for all ballet and pointe classes. Please send your child in a real bun, using bobby pins and hair nets, to class weekly. A scrunchie is not enough for a bun. Their hair falls out as soon as they jump or turn, and then the teachers have to spend time redoing their buns during our classes. We do have hair ties and bobby pins at the studio for emergencies, but they are not meant to be for daily use. If you don’t have time to do a bun after school, consider sending them to school with their hair in a bun that morning. I used to do that all the time as a child, when I knew I had dance class right after school.
I hope all of you enjoyed being outside with our beautiful weather over spring break, and we will see you tomorrow, Tues April 11th!!!! Summer flyers will be handed out the week we return from break.
thanks, Elizabeth
