Reminder we do have class tonight and Jan newsletter
Reminder: we do have class tonight, and on most Monday holidays! See you tonight.
Here is our January newsletter we sent home last week. If you did not receive it yet, please ask your teacher for it this week. It has the recital and costume permission slip that is due back February 3rd (into the orange bin in the lobby).
DanceStation Newsletter: January 2023
Happy New Year! Welcome back! We hope you are healthy and well-rested! We want to remind you that we are only posting newsletters and communicating through the DanceStation app – since last October! We are still finding families that have not downloaded the app, and YOU ARE MISSING A LOT OF INFORMATION! I post almost weekly using the app, and I use it to post very useful reminders, weather cancellations, and time sensitive information. Please, please, please download our free DANCESTATION app if you have not. It is soooo important in our communication with you. We are only doing a written newsletter this month because of the permission slip.
DanceStation does not take off for most Monday holidays. We will have class on Jan. 16 (MLK Day) and Feb. 20 (Presidents’ Day).
Just a reminder that our weather policy is…
If schools in the O’Fallon School District close due to weather reasons, there are also no classes at DanceStation. We will inform everyone with a post through the Dancestation app as well. Sometimes bad weather occurs over the course of the evening while we are in class. In these cases, we will post updates on evening cancellations through notifications on the app so we can reach everyone quickly.
Also, we want to make clear that the lobby is open to parents. You do not have to wait outside for your child – especially if it’s raining or snowing!
Tuition – is due the first week of every month. You can send a check or cash with your dancer’s name on the memo to put in the tuition box at the studio, or you can use your Parent portal link. If you cannot find your link I can email it to you again, no problem. A $10 late fee is added after the 15th of the month.
A $55 costume deposit is due in February, along with tuition, and the costume/recital permission slip is due by Fri. Feb 3rd.
If for any reason your child cannot attend the recital this year, I need to know ASAP. We are ordering costumes early this year due to supply issues. Dress rehearsals are June 1st and 2nd and the recital date is June 3rd (at The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts). There are also mandatory rehearsals at the studio the week leading up to the recital. Because we put on a ballet medley (littles) or full-length ballet (older kids) for each performance – each dance must connect to the others, and so an extra rehearsal during recital week is needed. Please plan your trips/vacations accordingly, and make sure you are not gone for any of these extra rehearsals or dress rehearsals in order to participate in the recital. We will be measuring for costumes in the coming weeks, and I will order costumes for all children who have turned in their permission slips – due back by Fri, Feb 3rd. Once the costumes are ordered, there are no refunds. The costume balance will be due in April. A costume balance/tuition statement will be sent home to each family at the end March.
Thank you! Elizabeth
